About the event

Calling all Sailors, the Curious, the Club-Deck Socialites…

This event is open to all Baltic members and shipping companies based overseas. Joint ventures between companies are encouraged and welcomed. Those who prefer can come join only the social parts of the program! Come and enjoy a weekend of sailing & socialising.

This year, the Baltic Exchange is sponsoring the charter of all boats, whereby for the whole weekend of fun the participants will only contribute towards the event

£ 50 per head if Young Baltic (under 35 years of age),

£ 100 per head all others,

£ 400 additional if a Company wishes to name a crew, which will be shown on the results sheets, social media and the Baltic News/Baltic Briefing.

Participants need to organise and fund their own accommodation on the Isle of Wight, and victualling (feed themselves).

There will be the usual Saturday night dinner, subject to separate booking and payment - see separate entry here on this site.

There are no stipulations on who may helm each boat other than competence, and after every race there will be a chance to rotate crews. So teams/squads can be as large as you like, giving everyone a chance to have a go on the water. There will also be opportunities for those not racing to witness the action close up and take photos from one of the Yacht Club’s fast tenders or just to go for a spin.

The tentative schedule is as follows:

Friday PM: Arrive Seaview. Folks tend to converge for food and a pint at The Old Fort, but this is not a BESA endorsement!

Saturday: Racing Seaview Mermaids

Saturday Evening: Three course dinner at the Sea View Yacht Club with late bar

Sunday AM: AM Racing Seaview Mermaids then Lunch and Prize Giving:  away by 1400-ish

Some of companies that have participated in the Regatta in the past include:

Lykiardopulo & Co

A.M. Nomikos

Brown Jenkinson

Howe Robinson Shipbrokers

Gibson Shipbrokers

Baltic Exchange

Pacific Basin

Holman, Fenwick & Willan
